Maxime Flament, CTO, 5GAA

Dr. Flament represents 5GAA, the global cross-industry association for the development of connected and automated cars, where he has worked as Chief Technology Officer since April 2018. Maxime was previously Head of Department for Connected & Automated Driving (CAD) at ERTICO – ITS Europe, the European association promoting research and deployment on Intelligent Transportation Systems. For 15 years, he has been a leading contributor to many European activities on road safety, connected vehicles, automated driving, large-scale pilots, and digital mapping. Maxime holds a Ph.D. E.E. (2002) and M.Sc. E.E. (1997) from Chalmers Technical University, Sweden. He also holds an “Ingénieur Civil” degree from the Free University of Brussels (1997). In 2001, he was visiting researcher at Stanford University, CA, USA.

Thomas Jäger, SVP Technology DEKRA

Thomas Jäger is a pioneer in Digital Mobile Communication and Wireless Testing and Certification with a professional career spanning 30 years. He has worked in local and global management roles at leading global TIC organizations with a strong focus on connectivity. Thomas has been a founding member of many regional and global certification initiatives. He is well known in the world of international interest groups such as ETSI, 3GPP, GSM Association, GCF, PTCRB, LoRa Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, 5GAA, ERTICO, OmniAir and others.

Bill McKinley, Automotive Strategic Planner, Keysight Technologies

Bill McKinley has spent over 30 years working on wireless communications with Hewlett-Packard, Agilent Technologies and then Keysight Technologies. His current role in Strategic Planning is focused on developing test solutions for the automotive sector as wireless communications transforms that industry. Bill has held multiple engineering and management positions throughout his career including R&D, Strategic Planning, Marketing and Manufacturing Engineering.

Rosario Trapero, Connected & Automated Driving Manager, DEKRA

Rosario Trapero joined DEKRA more than 25 years ago, where she has performed functions related to wireless communications, standardization and testing. She is currently the head of DEKRA's connected and automated driving department within the product testing service division. Her department is in charge of defining and developing the future Connected and Automatic Driving services for DEKRA. She actively participates in standardization bodies related to autonomous and connected vehicles (SAE, Omniair, 5GAA, ETSI).

Lars Nielsen, CEO and General Manager, GCF

Lars worked for nearly 30 years at Motorola where his wide-ranging experience covered the development, testing, quality and compliance of mobile devices as well as the management of international regulatory and policy issues. He was already well known within the GCF community when he became General Manager, having participated in the work of GCF as a Motorola delegate since the organization was founded in 1999. Active across the mobile industry, Lars has chaired the Mobile Terminals Working Group of DIGITALEUROPE and participated in working groups for bodies as diverse as the ITU-T, ETSI, CENELEC, PTCRB and the Bluetooth SIG.

Asif Hamidullah, Head of Certification – IoT & Verticals, GCF

Asif has over 20 years of experience in the wireless industry providing strategic consulting services to operators and product manufacturers in both the consumer and enterprise space. At GCF, Asif is driving the short and longer term technology roadmaps for various IoT product certification programmes including Automotive C-V2X, oneM2M and IoT Security. Asif graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B.A.Sc in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Management Sciences.
