GCF's Head of Certification IoT & Verticals, Asif Hamidullah, presented at ETSI Security Week 2021 (14-18 June). GCF is excited to work with industry to promote a common baseline set of requirements for consumer IoT security based on ETSI EN 303 645.
Asif discussed why securing consumer IoT devices is becoming increasingly important and outlined how GCF's Consumer IoT Security Programme is at the forefront of this campaign. His presentation (available to view here) includes an overview of the programme, its objectives and the accreditation process.
In the panel discussion that followed, participants were keen to ensure that mutual recognition of testing should exist between various assurance schemes. This will be critical to global adoption and to reduce fragmentation in the market.
