Welcome to the Global Certification Forum Drawing together leading players from across the mobile industry, the Global Certification Forum (GCF) is an independent certification scheme for mobile phones and wireless devices that are based on 3GPP standards. With a philosophy of 'test once, use anywhere', and an industry agreed set of Certification Criteria that include conformance, field trial & IOT requirements, GCF aims to ensure that a mobile device will work effectively on mobile networks anywhere in the world. GCF members include leading mobile network operators representing all the key markets worldwide, around 50 device manufacturers and other stakeholders such as test system suppliers and test laboratories. Certification explained GCF certification offers an industry recognised way of demonstrating the interoperability of a new mobile device. By subjecting new devices to a common set of industry agreed tests, certification not only increases device-network interoperability but also reduces acceptance testing overheads for individual operators. | Connected devices Embedded wireless connectivity based on 3GPP modules is spreading rapidly from netbooks to smart meters, cars, and a wide variety of enterprise and consumer electronics devices. Recognising this trend, GCF has introduced optimised processes for these new device categories. | News from GCF 2011-11-16: GCF activates certification for dual-mode LTE/3G devices 2011-10-13: First TD-LTE mobile device certified 2011-07-08: GCF Launches certification for TD-LTE devices | LTE LTE - Long Term Evolution – is the latest step in the ongoing technological evolution of 3GPP mobile phones and services.
